Additional GPU...Power Problem?

Hello everyone, recently I have been having problems after activating SLI on my computer.

I am trying to run SLI with two 9800GTX+ and a Coolmax CU-700B.

What happens is after I actually press "enable SLI" then "apply" (and agree to have nvidia close some applications for installation purposes) my screen flickers, turns off, the computer automatically reboots, and goes into windows error recovery. When I start windows normally, I am unable to see the windows logo or desktop (though I hear the sounds), and the computer reboots on its own after the screen flickers and does not receive signal.

After looking around, it seems that it may be a power consumption problem. Originally, I had the two 6pin power cables running into my older 9800GTX+ because it requires two. With my new 9800GTX+, which only has one 6pin connection, I took one of these 6pin cables for this new card, and I used a 6pin "Y" cable to split the other 6pin cable so that the original 9800GTX+ could still be powered.

I am wondering if this Y split cable is the cause of this SLI problem due to insufficient power being supplied to my older card. The new card did come with a 2 male molex to 6pin adapter, but I can't plug this into my power supply because my power supply has male molex connectors jutting out, so I'd need a 2 female molex to 6pin adapter if I were to remove the Y cable. Would such an adapter fix my problem? And if so, where could I buy such a cable?

Thanks much in advance!

Your PSU has male molex connections on it but those are meant for you to use with the cables that came with your PSU. The opposite end of that cable should be female molex connections allowing you to use the adapter supplied with your graphics card. Unless I'm just not understanding the problem. Hopefully that works for you.
