Best htpc gaming video card 2009

So what would the community suggest is a good video card to build an htpc capable of playing the latest games today? I want to build a one stop entertainment machine.

I would build the machine around the video card. I just need to know what card is recommended that can play the latest games plus perform the duties needed by an htpc. I don't know much about what the new video cards can do. Is there a card that has video in/out, and can play the latest games? I would like to hook it up an hdtv. Is there a card that offers these option and more? Just looking for some ideas.

If your card can play the latest games then your card is superb enough as HTPC...
