Hello, I'm about to buy a asus P7p55d-e Pro and a GSKILL 6GB (3x2GB) TT DDR3-1600Mhz CL6 1,6V Low Voltage TRIPPLE (6-8-6-20) Ram. I was wondering if they would work together without causing a problem?
Hi newcomer and welcome to the Tom's hardware forum.
Yeah the 6GB kit can run in the mobo but not as tri-channle kit since that feature only is supported by i7-9xx series and X58 chipset. Un ur case u will have a dual channel 2x2GB plus a single channel 1x2GB.
IMO is better if u RMA the RAM and get a 2x2GB kit dual channel for the mobo.
The P7P55D-E Pro uses dual channel memory and that G.Skill Ripjaws kit is triple. For a dual channel kit you'll need a 2x2 GB or 2x4 GB kit for optimal performance.
