Hi all,

I received a leftover system from work and I'm looking to upgrade the graphics card and ram. It has 1 AGP slot and 4 PCI's. It's currently running with the onboard Intel 82865G.

Would one of the ATI's that have been recommended be a good fit for the AGP slot? Any recommendation would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

It's a G7S620-N motherboard:

Well if you have a 400 watt power supply you could get the ATI 4650 AGP

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

But i do not know your power supply. The ATI 4650 is the best AGP card available though, so even if your powersupply is lower then 400watts, you could try upgrading the PSU and GFX together.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... < Coolermaster Powesupply

Combined price of Graphics card and Powersupply: $109.98 (Tax and Shipping Not included.)

Also if you have a 350 watt PSU and have a friend or store in your neighborhood that still has a ATI X1650PRO lying around i would highly recommend that card over your on-board graphics.

Actually the 3850 AGP might be better, the 3870 was equivalent to a 8800GT & the 3850 to around a 9600GSO.

There was a Review on toms about a month ago comparing the 4650 to the 3870, and it won.

Not in terms of availability, pricing, heat, power consumption and noise.

5FPS is not alot of gain for all that negativity.

It's AGP, everything's overpriced.

4650/4670 are better bang for buck.

1. AGP prices fly around wildly
2. OP has stopped posting
