Internal error 2753 installing Java 6.18 on Win XP

I have to use Java 6.18. Installation keeps failing with an error 2753. regutils.dll. Any help would be appreciated.

download the latest version 6.31 and install it manually instate of through the update

Unfortunately my IT people tell me that the company material that I want to access requires. 6.18, but I will give your suggestion a try, who knows?

make sure to uninstall any previous version of java first

Much to the surprise of our IT people, Java 6.31 actually worked the way only 6.18 is supposed to. So Emerald your suggestion saved the day. Thanks
