Tweaking fan speed on hyper 212 evo

i installed the heatsink fan fine, started it up and got a cpu fan error, read up on it and turns my motherboard may have set the default cpu fan speed to a higher than what it is spinning at. i was wondering how to fix this.

motherboard: asus p8Z77-v Pro

If the BIOS is close to the same as my P8Z68-V LE (which I believe it is), you need to go to the "Monitor" menu in Advanced Mode and change the "CPU Fan Speed Low Limit" to a lower speed. I have mine set at 200 RPM for my 212 Evo.
