Hello,I have just purchased a itel Pentium Dual Core CPU E5300 2.6GHz
can I put it in my Dell dimension 5100 Ive had various comments on this topic & none were definative can you help much appreciated

Not sure why you being so mean but hes right it wont work the best processor that will work on that board is a pentium 4E

lazy I dont think that was called 4 I had obviously tried Dell before joining this forum as alot of people have discovered Dell support is not a great deal of help. Im not very clued on systems so thats why I posted this question just tring 2 get some good advice

thanks 4 that just got some bad advice on a purchase & brought 1 probably should have done a bit more research 1st motherboard compatibility is another issue as the setup is reverse 2 normal specs could of just upgraded board well I will look up 4E thanks youve been very helpful SAAIELLO

daship I dont think u should b dispensing advice 2 people u have a bad attitude but I do have some advice 4 u .You should stop hiding behind that screen of yours u sound really lonely & bitter join the real world not the virtual PS It can b dangerous out here 4 people like u never know who u may encounter
