EVGA 9800 GTX+

Components involved:

HP Pavilion p6340f Desktop http://www.shopping.hp.com/product/rts_desktop/rts_desktop/1/storefronts/VT527AA%2523ABA
Trying to install Video Card EVGA 9800 GTX+ http://www.evga.com/products/moreinfo.asp?pn=512-P3-N871-AR

I realize that the power supply needs to upgraded already. My problem is the damn card is so long it is jamming into the SATA cables on the motherboard and will not go down all the way. So my thoughts was to add some type of an extender and found this.

Will this part allow me to "raise" the card above the cables so I can plug it into the slot correctly?

If not any other recommendations? Not buying another card dammit.....grrr.....

    should fix your problem
  2. I think if you use that riser you are gonna create more problems with clearance in the case. And it wont line up with expansion slot.

Found this one on Amazon that looks like they are a little smaller.
