BIOS changes Boot Info when external drives are attached

My western drive (1T-passport) external & portable hard drive stopped working on my linux/ubuntu10.04 computer but works on other windows computer away from home. thank you ,Jo. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year !

  1. May I ask which question you are asking: about an unreadable external drive or about boot order? Boot order is easy: Attach your boot drive to the SATA port numbered 1, and every time the BIOS scrambles the boot order it will find that one first.
