Hi, I have a SSD for my Windows 7 OS and program files. I want to buy two green Seagate 2 TB drives and would like to set them up in a RAID 1 configuration. I have a gigabyte motherboard that has an Intel chipset that supports RAID 1 and a Marvell 88SE9172 that also support RAID 1. Both have 2 x SATA 6Gb/s connectors (although that might be overkill for green drives). Which chipset should I used for my RAID setup? I have an I7-2600K and 2 x ATI 5850 in a crossfire mode. I should also mention that currently my SSD drive is using one of the intel SATA 6Gb connection but I can move it to the Marvell chipset if needed. I hope this makes sense. Thanks for any info.

With regular hdd it makes no difference what controller you use , I would keep the SSD on the Intel contrroller.
