How to overclock amd athlon 2 x2 250 dual 3.0 GHZ

I have tried to overclock my amd athlon 2 x2 250 dual 3.0 GHZ but nothing,i have change the factory to 210-220-230-240-250 i have changed also the multipler to 3.6 GHZ,3.3 GHZ, 3.2 , 3.1, 3.4, 3.5 , 3.7, 3.8 and 3.9 GHZ but when I save changes and pc restart,my cpu its same 3.0 GHZ it doesn't change it's same.Can somebody help me?

8.00 GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 460MHz (6-6-6-15)

You can change the multiplier on an Athlon II? I thought they were locked.

I think you will have to use the base clock to OC that chip.

I wrote a long explanation somewhere, but the short version is to increase the base clock (Which will make the CPU, RAM, NB, and HT link all go faster) then decrease the multipliers on everything but the CPU so that they are close to stock speeds and the CPU is running faster than stock.
