Hey guys,

I'm planning on buying a new monitor soon - it will go with a i5 & 5850 rig.
I'm not sure whether i'll go for a 24' or a 22' yet, I just wondered - should i consider taking an HDMI capable monitor due to the fact my GPU will support it ?
Will it matter much ? most of my time spent on the computer will @ gaming, but i'll probably watch movies on it from time to time..

Also, it'll be helpful if you could suggest quality monitors i should go for, that'll help alot :)

Thanks alot,

Yair

You will get the same performance between DVI and HDMI with respect to gaming applications.

It matters when you watch HD movies such as Blue Ray. New LCD display fitted with HDMI are HDCP compliant(You should check before you buy). Its is one of the requirement when playing Blue Ray Movies.

The result is you have 1080P HD Movie plus , Digital True HD Audio going to your monitor in a Single HDMI cable. Audio and Video in one cable.

If you are to purchase an LCD monitor 1080P resolution or higher it is recommended to get the model with HDMI port that are HDCP compliant.
