Intel Pentium 4 2.4GHZ - Socket 478

Intel Celeron 2.5GHZ

I know that higher clock speeds usually means the other is better but sometimes older cpus are more reliable.
Also are all Celerons Socket 775?

Celeron is the "Budget" name intel has used since the P2 / P3 days up until the present day.

Are you talking about a modern socket 775 Celeron ?

Time to go count the pins.

Higher clock speeds only means faster in the same architecture. For example.
2.0Ghz C2D is faster than a 3.0Ghz PD

Depending what celeron it is, it might be faster, but I bet the P4 is faster if their both netburst architecture.

I've had better fortune with celerons then i have with P4. Just from personal experience that is what I'd choose.
