Black Screen

Hello,

I have a Toshiba laptop. Windows will not boot up, but simply leads me to a black screen. There is no cursor or beeping sound just a quite black screen. On the initial start up I can press F2 and go into that screen, but it will not go into F8 so I can't get to safe mode to try and fix it and it will not go into F12. I have no idea what is wrong, I really need to get into the F8 screen. What should I do? Please help Thanks

Welcome to Tom's Hardware Forums,
Are there any lights lit up or a sequence of flashing lights on the laptop itself? What model Toshiba? Has it overheated lately or at all you are aware of? Have you tried connecting to an external monitor/tv?

Go to supplier immediately, If you have warranty to replace or exchange it.

I am having a similar problem. When I turn my laptop on I see the Toshiba logo flash across the screen then the screen goes blank with a flashing line in the upper left corner. Pressing F8 when turning the computer on doesn't do anything. Help!
