Hello Guys.
Need some help with a new mobo ECS P4M890T-M V2.0
tested with just cpu ,ram, psu and monitor, all of them tested in other systems and functioning perfectly.
When i connect the 4 pin connector, the cpu fan tries to spin, but just for a millisecond. when i disconnect the 4 pin cpu, then the cpu fan spins with no problem, but nothing appears on my screen.
i cleared cmos, and nothing!!!!!
i am using this processors to test:
celeron SL9XP
pentium 4 SL7J7

First of all, you need the CPU power plug. No power plug, no boot.

If the other components are good, the motherboard must be bad.

But the problem appears as soon as i connect the eps 4 pin connector (the cpu fan does not spin), could it be a problem with the motherboard 4 pin connector?

Are any of the processors that you are testing with on the list of supported CPUs for that motherboard and BIOS Revision?

SL9XP (Celeron 420)
SL7J7 (Pentium 4 540)

nope they are not in the supported cpu list.
the fact is that when i unplug the esp 4 pin cpu connector from the motherboard, the cpu fan spin normally. But with that 4 pin connector plugged in, not even the cpu fan spin, and i cant get post in any cases.
somebody told me it could be a short circuit in the 4 pin motherboard connector!!!
