Caviar Black 1 v 1.5 TB

I just wanted to quickly confirm something.

I can purchase a 1tb caviar black from amazon for $170 and a 1.5 for $200. To me, it seems obvious to get the larger at that price point. However, I am unaware of construction specifics. Are there any build differences or data density issues that would adversely effect the performance of the larger drive?

Not really, the Caviar Black 1.5 TB is built with the same processes as the 1 TB model. The difference may be the platter capacity and the cache. The retailer may have an incentive to move one model out over another. There may also be a difference between an enterprise model and a normal retail model. But WD is a solid OEM and you should look to buy before the New Year because they are cutting their warranty after the 1st.

I was wondering about things like the platter capacity. Does anyone know where I can find that type of info.
