Windows 7 Professional

System cost as above ~$1180 (before tax)

I plan to transfer an existing SATA hard drive from current PC for a total of 3 drives (SSD plus two rotating platter drives)

Do I need a third party CPU cooler?

Will that RAM work (it is 1.35V)?

Is 8 gig ram overkill for my intended usage?

TIA.

Mike

Could I go with a mini-ATX Mobo and case, get everything to fit, and achieve enough cooling to do a mild to moderate overclock?

I appreciate the reply.

With no plans for gaming, others in prior posts had suggested a 4670 would be sufficient. Do you disagree?

As for 6g of ram, don't I need to add sticks in pairs, which on this mobo with 2g sticks would be 4 or 8g?

Ohhh, sorry i don't see well your mobo. This only support dual channel, so in this case the 8GB are a good option.

Right, you don't plan game on your PC, but IMO for photo edition with a 4670 (2 years old) isn't enough. In this case a better option could be a GTX260 or HD 4850
