Hi

I have an intel 865 GBF motherboard with a pentium 4 , 2.4 Ghz installed init. Apart from it I have DVD writer & 2 80 GB HDD , with a pinnacle TV tuner installed in it.

Recently my pc stopped booting, i removed the D link lan card & tried again the system worked to my surprise , but later i tried to add this lan card to different slots the pc didint work.

previouly i used to surf the internet using this lan card

Please suggest could this be a prob with the lan card ?

If it works without the NIC in but doesn't boot when you insert it then chances are it's a bad card. You eliminated the possibility of a bad PCI slot by trying it in difference slots. I'm assuming your motherboard doesn't have onboard LAN? You can pick up a new NIC for next to nothing nowadays :) Good luck!

I have tried the Lan card in different PCI slots , everytime the card was inserted the system didn't boot.

I donot have an onboard lan on the mothrboard.

Will buy a new NIC & try it . Thanks for the reply
