Im building my first computer with an AMD Phenom II X4 965 C3 Stepping that uses 125w not 140w. And a ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro Rev. 2. I have a Lian Li PC-K62 Mid Tower Case. So I installed the CPU fine and took out the aftermarket cooler. The mounting was ridiculous, two brackets mounted on each side held by these little screws and you had to apply some pressure to get the other side to pop into the bracket. Then you tighten the screws and and brackets bend until there flush, like the picture showed. And the fan pointes downward becuase it sucks air up, through the heatsink, and out the 2 top fans on my case. I really hope I did that right. Now I have a MSI 790FX-GD70 and G.Skill Ripjaws. With the whole heatsink/fan combo on my memory sticks BARELY fit, they touch the plastic rim of the fan on the cooler. Is it alright to have one stick touching the plastic/ metal on the cooler?
Id like to add some pictures but I felt it wasnt necessary

Yes it's alright. Just check your cpu load & idle temps.
