Motherboard BIOS

Hi, my laptop switches on but the screen is black. When i took in for repairs they said it's a problem with the motherboard BIOS. How do I fix this?

You have to determine if the bios chip is removable. Can't help you there. If the computer shop couldn't fix it, chances are you need a new board. Check ebay for new or near new boards. You may decide it's better to purchase a new system.
