Bios Won't Update

I'm trying to update a friends motherboard, ga-k8vt890-9, its an old 939 board. On the website, http://www.gigabyte.us/products/product-page.aspx?pid=2..., it says on the cpu list that I need to update the bios to f3 to read the athlon 64 x2 3800.
Everytime i flash the bios it restarts and says that i need to reinsert disk because of an error.
