I have a 3gb set of Corsair Dominator RAM (CM3X1G1600C8D), which I know has an XMP profile of 1600 Mhz at 8-8-8-24 latency.

However the XMP also requires the memory to be set at a voltage of 1.65v; from what I heard this setting will damage the Core-i7 CPU, can someone confirm this.

How am I suppose to get around this limitation? I mean these memory modules were designed to be stable at these XMP settings!

Also could someone suggest a decent memory overclocking program that I can use in the windows environment.

Thank you

The i7 Vddq max(Processor I/O supply voltage for DDR3 with respect to Vss [ground]) is 1.875V; Vccpll max is 1.89V; Vtta & Vttd max (same regulator) are 1.35; Vcc (core max) specs at 1.55, but varies a bit by part number... Do your OCing in the BIOS - infinitely more stable and dependable! For testing & tweaking purposes, CPU-Tweaker 1.5 should work...

I have a core I7 920 running at stock speeds, I was wondering how much of a difference running the memory 1600Mhz makes, in terms of performance. Is there any review/benchmark of this test?
