I'm trying to configure Windows XP Home edition with IIS
and I have a couple of problems. I modified the file
sysoc.inf and modified the iis line to look like this:
iis=iis2.dll,OcEntry,iis2.inf,,7
I grabbed iis.dl_ and iis.in_ off of my XP installation
CD (expanded them) and then ran the Add/Remove programs
in Control panel. Initially this was installing the
components for iis but I got stuck on a file pws.exe and
had to stop the installation in the middle. Now when I
run the Windows Component installation the first line of
the listed components is a square object with no text and
the check box cannot be checked. No matter what I do I
cannot change the component line back to "iis
installation" and I can't seem to find any information on
the web about this problem. What is controling
the "Windows Component" (.inf, .exe, .pnf) screen and how
do I put it back to the way it was initially?
