Power LED flashes, but system won't turn on

My newly built system will not turn on. There is no sign of life at all when I push the power switch on the case except a brief, millisecond-long flash of the power and HDD leds. There are no fans turning on, no lights on the mobo, nothing.

Does anybody have any suggestions? Already tried:

-Unplug and replug the PSU, double-check that the voltage was right, make sure the on/off switch on the PSU was in the "on" position
-Double-check connections from front panel to the mobo
-Double-check the 12V connection by the CPU and the bigger power connection to the right
-Check spacers to make sure the back of the mobo isn't touching the case anywhere

You're off to a good start on troubleshooting, but have quite a few more things you could try. That's what the READ before posting about boot problems! sticky at the top of the forum is for. You need to perform EVERY step in the checklist and let us know how it goes after that.

System specs?

It could be something as simple as an inadequate power supply.
