Is the new one on the same channel or is it just stronger than your own router's signal ?

Make sure your router's SSID is unique, are broadcasting your SSID, and have wireless security enabled (WPA2/WPA).

Also, if you’re using WZC (Windows Zero Configuration), go to Start->Run, type “ncpa.cpl” (no quotes), and hit enter. Locate your wireless network connection, right click it, and select Properties. Under the Wireless Network tab, select Advanced and make sure “Access point (infrastructure) networks only” is checked and “Automatically connect to non-preferred networks” is NOT checked.
