Is it necessary to have heat sinks on memory? If you are talking about the heat sink, as part of the RAM, I would recommend purchasing one with it over a "Value" line. The RAM have high CL, if u can RMA and get another one with CL8 or less is better but from the same brand or Crucial, G.Skill or Kingston. tecmo34 a b } Memory August 3, 2010 4:31:41 AM 1) Your RAM will work just fine. You just won' be able to "overclock" the RAM. Just run at posted specs and all will be well. 2) It is not needed unless you want to overclock your RAM.
