Can you also run crossfire on an sli motherboard?

i am aware that you can run a SINGLE ATI GPU on an SLI motherboard. But can you run TWO ATI GPUs(crossfire)?

If it's an i5/i7 it's likely compatible with both SLI and crossfire. Otherwise no.

my motherboard is M3N72-D..it CPU socket is AM2+ and SLI capable(says on the box )

It cannot CF.

However a powerful card, say a 5870 is more powerful than GTX 260's in SLI.
Dual-GPU boards, like the 4870X2, 5970, GTX 295, 9800GX2 do not need CF/SLI support.
