I am running my radeon hd 5750 at 1280 x 1024 right now, and I am wondering how much of a performance hit would I see switching to 1920 x 1080?

Now it has to process 1,310,720 pixels at full HD 2,073,600 pixels So it is dealing with 58% more workload.

In almost every today's games you will see a performance hit,it depends on the game you play,so i can't give you exact numbers, what games do you play ?

I can play Crysis at 1920x1200 4xAA on my i5 750 with HD5750 with acceptable results. CoD MW2 also runs very nicely at 1920x1200.

Yes,and i can do 1920x1200 with 16xAA & 16AF and ultra details with my pentium I @100 Mhz plus a voodoo I.

Seriously, unless you have sth like low or mid details there is no way you can do 19x12 +4AA.

@Op: At that details, crysis will get a major fps hit unless you crank down the details. I suggest you switch to 1680x900 or even lower and then decide whats the optimal resolution.
