Why does the words and icons on my windows xp look bold

Hello,
The fonts and icons on my windows xp look bold or somehow larger than before. This includes the START at the left-side bottom corner, to all the words on files, pictures, videos, etc. How can I change my windows xp, so that everything can be viewed small sized again and clearer?

Do u use desktop themes?
Have U changed the resolution?

Try changing your resolution, try to apply Windows default theme.
Try changing scheme from Appearance tab, or change manually under Menu, Icons, bla, bla, bla...... (the size of them and see if bold is on.)
