Hello everyone-

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for the most durable, portable external hdd over 1tb for around or under $200? I'm looking for something portable to carry around with me as I often need large amounts of video, music, and other media to do my work; so durability is a must. I would prefer usb 3.0, but 2.0 is fine if the hard drive itself is reliable and well-made. Thanks in advance for any help you guys can give me.

-Sincerely, bobofosho12 :)

I looked on amazon searching with " 1 TB rugged hard drive", most branded ones seem to be bit over your budget of $100.... the plus side of paying just bit above is they have reliable warranty periods, rather than if you got a random branded one.

Didn't know whether u'r after USB 2.0 / 3.0 ones but here are the few cheapest 1 TB i found:

1. Buffalo Technology MiniStation Extreme 1.0 TB Rugged Portable USB 3.0 $159.99
2. Silicon Power Rugged Armor A80 1 TB 2.5-Inch USB 3.0 Military Grade Portable Drive $134.60
3. Transcend Storejet 1TB Portable Hard Disk USB 3.0 (25H3P) $153.95
4. Iomega 1TB eGo Portable Hard DriveUSB 3.0 $169.99

Hope that helps, but there seems to be limited 1TB options under $100, or you could wait a few more months till the price falls, or just get a 750GB one?

Thanks for the help, that gives me a much better idea of which ones I might want to look at. I'll change my price limit to $200 just to see what else others suggests. Thanks again for the help.
