Are cheap motherboards good for overclocking

I have a Phenom II X4 965 BE. I'm just wondering if cheap motherboards are good for overclocking.
I'm looking at the ASUS M5A78L-M LX PLUS and the Biostar TA970XE. I'm planning on only light over clock (not pushing the CPU to 4Ghz or more).
With what I'm planning on doing would the cheaper board (Asus) do the job? The extra money saved could be used toward a better GPU for gaming.
