i3 also has the memory controller onboard, and the graphics processor is sitting next to the CPU die ... so the i3 has a primitive graphics processor onboard.

The core2 duo has a dual core processor (CPU) but doesn't have a graphics processor sitting next to it ... you have to buy the graphics separately ... either on a motherboard (which we call an IGP or Integrated Graphics Part) or as a separate graphics card (what we call a discrete graphics part.

That said, the graphics on the i3 and i5 is only good for office machine tpe of work ... no good for games unless you like Duke Nukem 1 or 2.

Hope this helps.

Or Duke Nukem 3d without the high res graphics pack. Actually, don't they use software rendering only anyway?
