Love the sticky for the recommended builds but was just wondering which one for my use. I don't want to go to high or to low for what I need.

I'm basically looking for a pc for iracing and maybe some other games in the future but for now iracing.

My monitor is a Vizio 720p but I would like to upgrade to a 1080p in the future so my card would need to handle that.

My sound card would have to be able to hook into a receiver, hope this is possible.

So which build would be ideal for what I'm looking to do?

What's your budget? What are the other games?

Somewhere between 500-1k. No game off the top of my head but want to have the ability to play some future games in the next year or 2 if I want.

Also I don't see anything in the builds for the internet connection, am I missing something? Is that part of the motherboard?

Yup, it's part of the mobo now. Network & sound, in addition to many other things like USB, E-SATA, IEEE, etc.

What you do is get a pc that is at least better than the minimum since you're playing new games as well as this:

Quote:

* Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7
* Hyperthreaded Intel CPU, AMD Athlon 64 CPU, or any dual-core CPU
* 128MB Pixel Shader 2.0 (ATI 9700Pro or nVidia 6600 or better); 256 MB Pixel Shader 3.0 (ATI X1600 or nVidia 6800 GT/GS or better) graphics adapter recommended
* 1 GB system RAM
* 3Gb free hard disk space
* Microphone optional, required for voice chat

Controller

* Steering wheel, analog gamepad, or joystick.

Internet Browser Requirements

* Firefox 1.5, Internet Explorer 6, Google Chrome 2.0 or newer
* Javascript enabled
* Cookies enabled
* Flash Player

Internet Connection Speed

* 56K dial-up at a minimum, Broadband (DSL or Cable) highly recommended. Satellite broadband excluded.

Gimme a sec. I'm putting together the specs:

The PSU is overkill for the GPU which needs a 450W, but you can upgrade the GPU down the road while using the same PSU. Same for the mobo, which is semi-mid-range. Just drop in a Phenom II x4. Or another 4GB ram kit. That's if you need it.

The only missing item is a case. This GPU doesn't run too hot, so you can pick out a mid tower ATX case:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=E...

I'd still recommend a good cooling case in case you'll upgrade the GPU which will run warmer:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Or if you're not upgrading the GPU & want to save some money on PSU/CASE, this:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

The 500W Earthwatts is quality and can power HD 5850.

On the case/PSU; There's a great combo on Newegg with that PSU and a HAF 922 for $100 after rebates. It's a steal.

Other than that, it's a great build.
