I am trying to fix a Toshiba 3110CT, with no external CD-ROM drive
available. I have the recovery CDs, and the recovery floppy. When Windows
(98SE) was still working, I used an external USB HDD to copy the recovery CD
images onto a partition of the laptop hard-drive, hoping to be able to
convince the recovery setup to use this instead of the CDs but now I realize
that was a major and stupid error, as it just won't be convinced. I think
the "F3D.exe" program has something to do with it but I can't for the life
of me figure out what.
Is there anyway of getting it to recover from the CD image I have on
partition D: of the hard-disk? Or am I going to have to take it to the
Toshiba service center?
