Regular Cable converted to hidef through my computer?

Hi, I already have my computer hooked to my tv with 2 cable converter cards so I can use it as a dvr etc. My question is can I insert an AGP 1080p HDMI card for my output (current output is integrated vga) and receive full 1080p HD. The reason I ask is I am buying a new tv with full hd. Thanks

Yes, the card can provide HD output. But the input itself (from your cable or another video source) should be HD as well.
