Esata on PCI or PCI-E for External Hard drive

Hi I want to connect my new 7200rpm external hard drive (with esata) to my pc via a esata pci or pci-e card. Does it make a difference in copy and read speeds if I take the PCI version of the card or will the pci-e version be faster?

More about esata external hard drive
  1. the PCI-E should be slightly faster and have quite a bit lower latency (as PCI maxes at 133MB/s a PCI-E x1 maxes at 250 MB/s)
  2. thanks mindless. anybody else know about this? just want to get a few more opinions before I buy the card.
