crysis at very high detail settings requires an obscene amount of graphics power, way more than any other game, aside from the GTX295 there is no single nVidia card that can give you better than 40FPS, since you have an SLI motherboard if you really want to max crysis out you will need to consider 2 GTX285's or just lower your standards a tiny bit and setting for high settings which is equivilant to maxing out most other games.
I actually wonder what is going to be the price of the new card that is going to perform equal to the GTX285! Hence my original answer. There is no reason to be waiting to buy a new nvidia card today unless you are waiting for the new cards to come on the market! It is not like there is going to be a huge price drop. Otherwise we would be picking up cheap ATI HD48xx cards now.
The ATI 48** became very cheap for a month, until supply dried up.
Dont be silly.
excuse me! I have not seen any thing cheap except a XFX HD4870 card! Today I noticed a HD4850 for 99 after it came back in stock otherwise I have not seen anything I could call a sale! Then again what is affecting the prices is that HD5850 was $259 on release and is now $310. So why lower prices on the old cards.
