2 years ago, I replaced 3 19 inch CRT's with 3 24inch LCD monitors and I have been looking to make the jump to 3 30inch LCD's

Apple has not updated their 30inch product line in a long time, and the same with Dell and Samsung.

I was looking at the Dell 3007 WFP when it came out and I did not like the specs. Then the 3008WFP came out a year later (big improvement). Today there should be a 3011 WFP with OLED back lighting, Multi Touch and LED or OLED back lighting.

Googling a replacement for the 3008WFP returns someone asking on Dells forums where the non existant monitor is and Dell is not saying anything.

Maybe it is time to go to 3 1080P projectors?

Side note, funny this is the Graphics and Display's Category and there is no sub cat for monitors or displays... anyway, I hope this is in the right section.

Thanks Pjuice,

looks like allot of people have been looking at this thread but no posts until you :)

maybe the the 3008WPF over saturated the market, it has all the connections we are looking for, but it is not LED/OLED back lit and multi touch would be a nice addition.

We can only hope.

Basically its all about money and the recession. Realistically how many people can afford to get a new 30” monitor nowadays and if the recession didn’t hit I bet we would see new 30” monitors popping up.

Most people buy the 1920 x 1080 monitors because they are cheaper and there is a huge market for them. My cousin was telling me his Asus 1080p monitor was full hd and didnt believe thst my 26" 1920 x 1200 Vk266h monitor had a higher resolution because he had no idea about higher resolutions. I think it's a mix of lack of knowledge and not a big market for monitors that big. Alot of 1080p monitors are coming out because its the new price/performance monitor.
