Overclock safe?

I followed this guide to overclock my 3570k with a p8z77 v pro board http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vetYANKn_aw and i achieved a 4.5ghz stable overclock i ran prime95 for 6 hours no problems with temps rising to 70c max with a noctua nh-d14. My question is it safe to leave the system on a 24hour overclock or am I better to revert to normal settings when just browsing?

Thanks!

  3. Can't read that CPU-Z SS, but it appears that he said to use an offset, which I'm very happy about. It's perfectly fine to keep the OC 24/7 in that case, because you're still idling at 1.6Ghz and at semi-normal idle voltage (a + offset raises idle voltage a bit, but it's not too bad).

As long as SpeedStep and C1E are still enabled, and you used the offsets like he said to, you're good to go.

If you ever want to see and use max speed of the OC without having to do a stress test, just use the High Performance power profile in Windows. Control Panel -> Power Options and select High Performance. Then you can set it back to Balanced, when you don't need the max speed, to let it idle and react normally.

Edit: The second CPU-Z SS is MUCH better, and yeah, that looks good.
  4. Yep, you're good to go. :)
  5. Hey thanks for the reply, yeah thats a really cool tip i can just select high performance when gaming :) and then balanced when when browsing. Yeah my core speed stay at about 1600mhz to 1900mhz when browsing with a vcore of 0.928 so I was thinking myself that im ok just wanted a second opinion :).
  6. Thanks ! :)
