I used to build a new custom pc every 6 months. That was about 4 years ago, I bought a macbook and havent had a reason to build a new pc in a while but have forgotten how much I used to love it.

Check out my configuration and see if everything matches up and if I have all the critical parts and they match. Any suggestions on a better bang for my buck or anything is more than welcome. Thanks for your help and commentary is much appreciated!

Agree with p55ibexpeak.

That said, here are some changes for the better:

Case/PSU: Newegg has the HAF 922 and an OCZ StealthXStream 700W for $110 after rebates. This is more than enough for any build.

RAM: There's some cheaper, better RAM: Mushikin Enhance Blackline 3x2 GB 1600 mhz CAS Latency 7 for $165 after rebate.

HDD: WD is behind the times. Grab a Samsung Spinpoint F3 1 TB for $90. It's all around better.

Mobo: Since you said you weren't gaming, this is a better future proof motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD3R $210.
