I7 920 - seems to hot

I have a new i7 920 (D0) on a Gigabtye GA-X58A-UD3R motherboard, still running the stock Intel cooler but no overclocking (2.66 GHz).

Idle temps are 37-46C (depends on ambiant room temp, etc) and loaded with Prime95 is about 78-83C.

These seems too hot for even the stock cooler. I have upgrade the BIOS (Intel recommended) and re-seated the cooler. Still running hot.

Any suggestions? Bad chip?
