Hello,

I have a 40 GB IDE HDD as a Master.

How can use SATA HDD with IDE connector.

For putting it on the same ribbon cable as your 40 then you will need to set the jumper to slave , usually labelled SL. If its going to be on its own ribbon cable then set it to single mode which can be master, slave, or no jumper. You'll need to google the model number and look for a manual.
