Wifi not connecting windows xp

Hello,
mine is compaq 610 , the wifi is showing acquiring network adress, but not connected, n internet is also not working. i tried to set IP adress manually but still internet is not working. I have also re-installed the LAN driver,but of no use.please help

If it's stuck at acquiring address it means the computer can't get an IP from the DHCP server, which is your router. Try power-cycling the router, then "forgetting" the wifi connection to it on the computer and re-connecting.
