Is my old Toshiba dying?

Hello,Is my old Toshiba dying? Pink and blue vertical lines come on the screen, the cursor stops working, text fades slowly into nothingness. I turn the computer off, then on and all's well. Then it happens again.

That definitely sounds like an expensive hardware failure. However, if you can find someone local to crack it open, clear out all the dust bunnies, and put on some fresh thermal grease for the CPU and GPU, you might just be able to get it back into working order. It's not a guarantee, but it's a pretty low cost thing to try compared to getting a new laptop.
