Motherboard Help

I am looking for a motherboard but not sure which one to buy. I bought a XFX ATI 5750 Video Card and a Corsair 650w PS and the PS wouldn't work with my HP computer bc the motherboard it has doesn't have the 24 pin connector its a weird one cable. So I want to build my own and never have. So I want a good motherboard where i can use an AMD Phenon ll X4 955 or 965 and DDR3 Ram and maybe later on be able to have dual video cards. ASUS M4A79XTD EVO AM3 AMD 790X ATX AMD Motherboard - This would be a good starting point... IMO
