4x raid on sata 2 board?

Hello, Im looking to put 4 intel x25m 80gig ssd drives in a raid 0 config, but My evga mobo only has onboard sata2. SO is there any point in doing this considering sata2 limitations? Is a sata3 add in card an option? thanks corei7 920 @ 4ghz evga x58 sli mobo 6 gigs mushkin 1600 2x gigabyte 470gtx x25m 80gig boot and 300 gig wd black

  1. You can get a sata3 raid pci-e addon card but you will be paying some good money for it. You could end up deciding between getting that card or a new motherboard with sata3 ports , but it would have to have four sata3 ports.

Here is an example of a raid controller card for the pci-e slot.
  3. i would get new motherboard if need that SATA 3, USB 3, it usually ends up cheaper then buying bunch of add on cards, or maybe something like this
