Drivers and Windows 7

Hey guys i recently installed my window 7 64bit onto my new system. I was connected to the internet, so it instantly began installing drivers and updates. It seemed like it installed every updated driver except the GPU, which I did myself from AMD.com . I ran a couple of other programs to find any driver update, and they found none. I also checked my hardware and devices and everything is listed and apparently most up to date. Anyone have any thoughts? Is this ok?

I don't let Windows do any updates after the install. I d/l all the latest drivers from manufacturers web sites. I install them. Then I use Windows update on "custom" to go look for drivers and updates....the windows ones I let install .... the drivers, I check manufacturer's sites. If not there, I don't install.....like to be in control of and know what's being installed.
