RAM configuration of a large server

Hi,

planning to buy a large HP server with 32G DDR3 RAM should I go for 4 x 8G sticks or rather 8 x 4G sticks? Is there a tradeoff regarding price, performance, reliability?

the trade off with going from is with 4 x 8GB you will have room for expansion as you could add more memory down the line but be more expensive, with the 8 x 4GB you may not have room for more ram unless you swap out sticks but it is much cheaper
