So I'm putting together a new system, intended almost completely for gaming. I hope that it can last for a few years so it can last through college and until I can get a job. I already have a TX750 PSU so I don't need to get a new one.

Case: Antec Nine Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Mobo: ASUS P7P55D LGA 1156 Intel P55 ATX Intel Motherboard
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

CPU:Intel Core i5-750 Lynnfield 2.66GHz 8MB L3 Cache LGA 1156 95W Quad-Core Processor
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Ram: G.SKILL 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

GPU: SAPPHIRE 100282SR Radeon HD 5850 1GB 256-bit GDDR5
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

HDD: Western Digital RE3 WD1002FBYS 1TB 7200 RPM
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Monitor: ASUS VH236H Black 23" 2ms(GTG) HDMI Widescreen Full HD 1080P LCD Monitor

Any advice on this setup would be great. It's only my second system I've built so I'm still not entirely sure which parts to get.

Everything looks good except for the RAM and hard drive.

You will need DDR3 instead of DDR2 and could save some cash without impacting performance by getting only 4GB.
This Set should work great for you!

That hard drive is way overpriced.
Switch it to a WD Black 1TB for $100.

Just a few changes: The RAM, like outlw suggested. Also, I would change the hard drive to a 1TB Samsung F3 Spinpoint, which is cheaper and faster than the WD drives right now because of the higher platter density. I would also suggest changed the motherboard to the ASUS P7P55D-E PRO. It's a great board for only $40 more, and it also has the new USB 3.0 and SATAIII ports.

Change to the RAM: This set is actually a lot better than the one outlw pointed to: G.Skill Ripjaws 2x2 GB DDR3 1600 mhz CAS Latency 7 for $110. There's good 1333 mhz ones that are only $5 cheaper, but I think it's worth the extra bit.

I would consider getting the HAF 922. It's only $80 after rebate, and most consider it better than the Antec 900, though they're both high quality cases.

Second the Samsung F3 suggestion and th Asus P7P55D-E Pro.

Ugh I have sworn that RAM was DDR3, I guess I read it wrong. Thanks for catching that.
