Hello all,
I just got Sims 2 University and went to install it. I got a message saying
that I should back up Sims 2 before installing. What folders contain my
saved games in the Sims 2? And, do I need to backup my downloads folder as
well?
Thanks again,
hopefully I will stop asking questions soon.
Beck.

Backup your
\My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Neighborhoods
folder
If you have XP, there may be be a user name in there somewhere. Basically
it's in the same place as your downloads folder.
You don't need to backup your downloads folder (Maxis only tells you to back
up your sims in case you want to uninstall University), but you do need to
make sure you have taken out all your custom careers, and make sure all your
downloads are compatible with university. Otherwise it can cause problems.

Great, thanks. I actually got impatient and installed lol. Nothing went
wrong so I much have over-reacted )
Thank you though,
Beck.

Hey Beck
I just got ther Sims University last week as well, I just went ahead and
installed it without backing up any Sims files, and it was ok.
I created a Big Brother house full of sims at University (well, 10 of them
anyway) but poor Roberto burnt to death last night in a fire

I ended up doing the same thing (I only backed up my downloads folder) and
nothing changed. I just got impatient as I wanted to see University in
action lol.
I am not a very big fan of Big Brother, I haven't actually watched it. But I
do know a lot of people who love it and would probably love your story line
in Sims2 )
Thanks,
Beck.
